  • Georg Fischer AG rose by 7%
  • Standard Chartered added 6.5%
  • Volvo Car Series B lost 4.5%
  • Deutsche Lufthansa sunk by 4%
    FTSE 100 added 0.3%

Other stock markets in Europe were mixed:

  • France’s CAC 40 gained 0.2%
  • Germany’s DAX held steady

Global Market Indicators

  • Wall Street Journal Dollar Index: flat at 98.45
  • Brent Crude: fell by 0.5% to $82.26 a barrel
  • WTI Crude: fell by 0.6% to $78.14 a barrel

Bonds

  • German 10-year Bund yield: climbed by 2 basis points to 2.463%
  • U.S. Treasury 10-year yield: rose by 2 basis points to 4.343%

Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Asia

Markets in Japan were closed.

  • Hang Seng in Hong Kong declined by 0.1%
  • China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite climbed by 0.6%
